About Me
I’ve spent my professional lifetime bringing innovative products and solutions to market. I started my first business at 19, bought my first company at 22 and have been involved with 7 corporate acquisitions along the way including the recent PSS Systems acquisition by IBM.
Today, I lead business strategy and market development for IBM’s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) within IBM Software Group. I came to IBM through the 2006 acquisition of FileNet, where I served as Vice President of Product Marketing. Prior to joining FileNet, I was the Vice President of Marketing for Tarian Software, which was also acquired by IBM (in 2003). I have been involved with a number of industry initiatives and have partnered with the internationally known firm, Kotler Marketing on several key ROI initiatives. I often speak on a variety of enterprise content management, and product strategy / marketing topics.
I am originally from Baltimore and now live in Northern Virginia. I love to play golf and enjoy music and photography when not helping IBM build a Smarter Planet.

Hi Craig,
I’m wondering if a computer similar to Watson could be used to create the first artificially-intelligent Facebook profile–one that could create posts, comment intelligently, upload photos and links, “like” posts and pages, and have a network of friends (real people) with whom it communicates effectively and intelligently, like a human. I think it would be a great challenge, and also a global social media coup.
Love the Watson project.
Steve
I think we can expect to see advances in natural language, including more natural computer interfaces. The computer gaming industry, and the iPad, have done the most to captured the imagination on that front recently.
Hi Mr.Rhinehart,
I´m a Brazillian journalist and I work with a ECM magazine for Brazil and Latin America readers. We will run a big show on next september at São Paulo ( ECM Show 2011), so I´m wondering if you are avaiable for presentations outside US, and how can I get you to explain more about it?
Thanks
